I chose to do my poster on a subject that I know all too well, however I wanted to make this a poster that everybody could appreciate and relate to. Bipolar disorder is something that is being diagnosed more and more and while this is the case those with it still tend to be ashamed once they have been ashamed and others who have no known ideas on it seem to not relate well. I wanted to do something with a simple design that was eye catching but not too much, however I wanted to use people that all generations could associate with (in the hopes that the poster would be something that could stand the test of time) and giving a wide array allows for various generations to associate with the real faces of bipolar disorder. Those from young teens (as most are diagnosed in their upper teens to earlier twenties) I chose to use actors such as Russel Brand and Demi Lovato and then I chose others such as Robert Pattison who everyone knows as well as Catherine Zeta-Jones who is in the "upper generation" if you will. I also wanted to use the "ransom note effect" as it is eye catching, however it also relates to the dysfunction that those with the disorder feel, the jumbling and variety of everything.
